On a Salmon River rafting trip with Idaho River Journeys, you will run long stretches of rapids, hike nearby trails, spot wildlife, and have time to reacquaint with your family, friends and even yourself. Private Fly-Fishing Trips
Annually we are permitted to reserve a few trip dates for the fall of the following year. These trips are ideal for small private parties of eight to twelve fly-fisherman. Charters consist of one raft for every two fishermen supported by a large supply boat that travels ahead of our group to set up camp. If you would like to charter a 2019 fall fishing trip for a group of friends or fly-fishing club, let us know your preferred date as soon as possible and we will attempt to get it for you. This year the Forest Service will allocate the 2019 dates on October 15. Charter groups can arrange for their entire group to meet us in Boise, Ketchum, Salmon or Stanley and specify a trip of 4, 5 or 6 days. Call us at 1-208-756-8116 for more information.
Halfway to Halfway
Halfway to Halfway & Back is a new collection of river stories co-authored and compiled by former IRJ outfitter Bob Volpert. The stories capture the essence and mood
of river guiding. This second book builds on the success of Halfway to Halfway & Other River Stories, an award winning compilation of river guide tales published in 2012. Many of the stories take place on the Middle Fork of the Salmon. The tales focus on river related events that usually have little to do with whitewater. These are the stories shared around a campfire after a day on the water. Some are funny, some sad, some quirky, but they all come from personal river experiences. The book is available at Riverwear in Stanley, The North Fork Store , Odd Fellows’ Bakery in Salmon or directly from Halfway Publishing.
