There is nothing like the excitement that accompanies the month of June on the Middle Fork Salmon River. From wildflowers in full bloom, crystal-clear hot springs, to awe-inspiring waterfalls tumbling into the river; June is an incredible time to experience the Frank Church Wilderness and enjoy Idaho whitewater. Below are a few of our June trip highlights.
Waterfalls
High above the Middle Fork, the melt off from the peaks flows right into the canyon. Whether from a raft or hiking up a side creek, you can see many different waterfalls cascading into the river. During the runoff, we take the opportunity to see as many spring falls as possible on these trips.
Hotsprings
Surrounded by dramatic alpine views, there is nothing quite like stopping during the day and soaking in a Rocky Mountain hot springs. The Middle Fork Salmon offers numerous springs to soak in and enjoy.
Camping
With the river full, it means more time spent at camp, hiking, fishing, or just spending time with friends and family. The camping on the Middle Fork Salmon offers a span of activities. Most campsites have the Middle Fork trail cutting through it or lesser known trails that rise above offering scenic views.
Idaho Whitewater
Exhilarating, fun, and action-packed. When you add peak flow to an average gradient drop of 27 feet per mile, you get to experience some of the best Idaho whitewater rafting.
