MIDDLE FORK OF THE SALMON
2021 TRIP DATES

Middle Fork Reservation Info – Please Read

Idaho River Journeys offers only twelve to fourteen Middle Fork trips a season. Trips are limited to thirty participants including guides. Thanks to repeat bookings and referrals from past guests, nearly all our trips go out full. Please call us for current availability. If the trip you want is not available, give us a call anyway. Sometimes a party has a change of plans and we have openings that have not been posted yet.

A non-refundable deposit of $500 per person is required to confirm a reservation on the Middle Fork of the Salmon. The balance is due 90 days before departure. Should you have to cancel your trip, deposits, payments, and final payments are non-refundable. We highly recommend travel insurance to protect your travel investment. If you cancel, we do not give refunds or credit for future trips. Our cancellation policy is firm and we can not make exceptions. We operate under federal regulations, which restrict the number of guests per trip and the number of trips per season. If you cancel, try to find someone to take your place. If you need to cancel or make a substitution, please let us know as soon as possible. Call us at 208-756-8116 and send us a follow-up email notification to: info@idahoriverjourneys.com.

We highly recommend purchasing trip insurance. Please protect your investment in your vacation with trip insurance. For more information on the recommended plans or to enroll, view the details online or contact Travelex Insurance Services at 800-228-9792, reference our Location Number: 05-0917 and company, Idaho River Journeys.

Water, weather or other conditions dictate where we launch our Middle Fork trips. For trips that meet in Stanley, we launch from Boundary Creek, which is accessible by bus, or from Indian Creek, which is accessible by air. If we launch from Indian Creek, the cost of the flight is not included in our trip fare. For our August 17 and 25 trips, the cost of the flight from Stanley is included in our trip fare.

All reservations are subject to a $4/day Recreation Enhancement Act Fee.

DISTINCTIVE VACATIONS WITH IRJ

The IRJ Fleet

The configuration of boats on an IRJ Middle Fork trip is determined by group size and water conditions. Usually, we will have a couple of paddle rafts, 2 or 3 oar rigs, a sweep boat and a small fleet of inflatable kayaks. Paddle boats consist of 4 – 6 paddlers and a guide. Oar rigs are rowed by a guide and are ideal for fishing or sitting back and taking in the scenery. Inflatable kayaks are single-person, exhilarating boats that you pilot down the river behind a guided raft. Our sweep rig is a 22-foot gear boat crewed by one or two guides that carries trip items to camp ahead of our group.

Our guides have been working together for a number of years and have a special synergy that our guests notice and appreciate. They know the river well and enjoy sharing their knowledge. Before your trip, view our Middle Fork Salmon Guide page to read their biographies.
