Idaho's Middle Fork of the Salmon is America's premier wilderness river. Deep cathedral forests, steep canyon walls, natural hotsprings, fabulous fly fishing, exhilarating whitewater and beautiful, spacious campsites make the Middle Fork of the Salmon world famous. Most of our Middle Fork Salmon trips meet in Stanley, a small mountain village easily reached from Boise.

A trip with Idaho River Journeys is much more than a float trip. Its a spectacular vacation with guides that know the canyon better than anyone and enjoy sharing that knowledge. They will get you to the best fishing spots, take you to historic places and make sure you know about the best hikes from camp.

Most of our Middle Fork rafting trips are 6-days and we launch a new trip every eight days. When you choose Idaho River Journeys for your Middle Fork Salmon vacation, you will be going with an outfitter known for superior service and a exceptional crew of guides. General Information

We provide just about everything you need for your vacation, including fly fishing gear, and our logistics are simple. This an easy to plan, hassle free, river vacation. Planning Your Trip has essential information about our Middle Fork Salmon rafting trips, including travel and lodging suggestions, what to bring and other helpful details.

Water and safety concerns sometimes require that we launch our Middle Fork trips from the airstrip at Indian or Thomas Creek, necessitating a flight from Stanley the morning of departure. The cost (about $125) of the charter flight from Stanley is not included in our trip fare. Trips that meet in Boise require a flight to a landing strip next to the Middle Fork on the morning of departure. That flight is included in the trip fare.

Camping on our trips is spectacular and comfortable. Our sweep boat travels ahead of our group and camp is set up before our arrival. Even if you've never camped before, you'll be very comfortable and marvel at the delicious meals our crew prepares. Most trips are six-days, just long enough to introduce you to some of the special sites along the river. Even though we have been outfitting here since 1978, We are still discovering magical places with our guests on every trip.
